Have you ever considered the ethics of torture? Should torture be banned in all circumstances, or are there some very rare occasions when it would be permissible, even a moral necessity? For example, what if a terrorist was captured who had planted nuclear bomb in a major city where tens of thousands of people would be killed, unless he talked? The clock is ticking and he is not talking - is torture permissible in order to make him talk? These are the kinds of questions being addressed by Christian leaders at an online symposium called The Truth About Torture, put together by Joe Carter and Justin Taylor. Well worth reading.
